Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Ooredoo Group and Huawei have signed a five-year global frame agreement that will see Huawei supply its radio, core and transport products and solutions to the Group.

The agreement will enable Ooredoo to further enhance its customers’ digital experience around the world by leveraging Huawei’s Radio System, which will provide end-to-end network support. Key technologies in use include Huawei’s Blade AAU radio unit, Cloud Core solution, Transport system and Cloud Infrastructure solutions.

Ooredoo customers have already experienced enhancements enabled by partnering with Huawei; Ooredoo Qatar enlisted the technology giant to deploy its robust fibre broadband network and the advanced streaming platform needed to provide innovative 4K/8K HD video at recent major sporting events, delivering Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality services that led to immersive experiences for millions of sports fans.

Huawei’s Radio System also facilitated the spread of fast nationwide 5G coverage at Ooredoo Kuwait, with the operating company also working with Huawei to deployed advanced Massive MIMO radios enabling Ooredoo Kuwait to introduce its Supernet digital experience.

The agreement covers all related implementation and integration services of Ooredoo Group operating companies; namely in Qatar, Indonesia, Algeria, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Tunisia, Myanmar and Maldives.
