1st generating unit of Zubaidiya power station to join service by 2013

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Minister of Electricity Karim Aftan al-Jumaili stressed that Zubaidiya gas power station is considered one of the strategic stations at the Ministry where its first power generating unit will enter the service by start of 2013.

A statement by the MoE quoted Jumaili as saying “Our regular inspection to the process of implementation of Zubaidiya power station comes to emphasize our adherence to complete this project on time where the first generating unit will join service by 2013.”

“The remaining units will enter the service respectively, every four months one by one to be implement the first phase of the projects which includes four units,” the statement added.

For his part, the Spokesperson of the Minister, Musab al-Mudaris, stressed that “The total energy of the Zubaidiya station will amount to (2540) megawatt.”

Mudaris continued saying “Jumaili stresses through his continuous follow-up to the projects of electricity his commitment to the pledge he made concerning ending the electricity crisis once and for all.”
