Abadi chairs National Security Council weekly meeting

(IraqiNews.com) On Sunday, PM Haider al-Abadi’s office announced that the Abadi had presided over the weekly meeting of the National Security Council, indicating that many decisions were taken during the meeting.

The office said in a statement received by IraqiNews, “PM and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Haider Abadi chaired the weekly meeting of the National Security Council,” noting that, “During the meeting, attended by a number of ministers and security leaders, Abadi discussed developments in the security situation and the protection of oil facilities by providing more support.”

The statement added, “The protection of civil aviation and airports, organizing reform circulations and the integration of criminal justice data system were among the topics discussed during the meeting,” adding that, “A series of decisions were taken thereon.”

On January 26, 2015, PM Haider al-Abadi headed the National Security Council meeting; he discussed security developments and measures taken to strengthen the role of law and security.
