Abad’s Office: External support to Anbar will be through official governmental channels

(IraqiNews.com) On Saturday, The Office of the Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi stated, that any external support to Anbar will be through official channels of the Iraqi government, pointing out that the province delegation heading to Washington includes notables representing the major clans involved with the armed forces.

The spokesman for the office Saad al-Hadithi said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “The visit of the delegation that is heading to Washington came upon prior preparations between the local and federal governments, and in coordination with the U.S. Embassy,” asserting that, “External support that can be provided to the province is welcome and will be in coordination with the federal government and through official channels.”

Alhadithi added, “The delegation includes notables representing the major clans, which participate in supporting the armed forces in Anbar,” stressing the need for “security and humanitarian relief, as well as reconstruction of the province.”
