(IraqiNews.com) An official within al-Hashed al-Sha’bi militia in Kirkuk said on Wednesday, that 1200 fighters from al-Hashed al-Sha’bi forces have not been paid since last year, appealing to Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to disburse the salaries.

Hassan Mahmoud al-Soufi, an official within al-Hashed al-Sha’bi, said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “The fighters of al-Hashed in Hawija as well as the forces stationed in the area of al-Fatha in Hamrin Mountains (125 km southwest of Kirkuk), and our forces consisting of four regiments with the strength of 1,200 fighters, who are from the residents of al-Abasi, al-Zab, al-Riyad and Hawija areas southwest of Kirkuk, have not been paid since last year.”

Soufi also added, “Those regiments were formed on 03.15.2015 and 10.03.2015 at Camp Laylan southeast of Kirkuk,” appealing to the prime minister and the defense minister to intervene to disburse the salaries.
