Berqdar, US delegation discuss rebuilding courts in liberated areas

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Midhat al-Mahmoud, met at his office in Baghdad the US Ambassador to Baghdad, Stewart Jones, and accompanying delegation the intentions to rehabilitate the courts at the areas liberated from the terrorists of the ISIL.

Statement by the Judiciary received by IraqiNews.com “Mahmoud highlighted the success of the Iraqi judiciary in confronting the great challenges by keeping its independence and non- alignment.”

Berqdar stressed during the meeting “The Judiciary is keen to inaugurate courts at the areas liberated from the ISIL.”

For his part, Ambassador Jones called sustain partnership between Iraq and the US on the judicial level to serve both countries.

The US delegation comprised the director of the judicial affairs at the US Congress, Malanoski, and chief judge Stern as well as a number of officials at the US Department of State and the US Congress. /End/
