Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – A German business delegation, under Economy Minister Peter Altmaier, will visit Iraq soon to discuss means of increasing investments between the two countries in the coming period, German Ambassador to Iraq Serel Non said.
The German envoy made the remarks Sunday during a meeting with Iraqi Planning Minister Nouri Sabah al-Dulaimi at the ministry’s headquarters in Baghdad.
During the meeting, the German ambassador praised efforts exerted by al-Dulaimi to boost joint action and attract more foreign investments into the Arab country through providing more facilities for foreign businessmen.
Al-Dulaimi, for his part, stressed the importance of German cadres’ contribution to investment projects in Iraq, particularly in the cities which were liberated from Islamic State militants.
The minister also suggested forming a German group to support governmental projects in different sectors and provide advice on that score.
The two sides also discussed means of stepping up international support for reconstruction and sustainable development projects in Iraq.
