IMO mission arrives in Basra to evaluate Iraqi maritime

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Transport announced arrival of International Maritime Organization mission (IMO) to Basra province on last Friday comprising three foreign experts from the IMO to evaluate the maritime sector in Iraq.

A statement by the ministry cited “The mission will set road map to apply the requirements for the maritime agreements to recognize the Iraqi domestic certificates associated with the maritime and enlist Iraq within the While List.”

“The mission will hold intensified meetings throughout the current week including visits to Um Qasr seaport and Arab Gulf Academy for maritime studies,” the statement added.
