Iraq’s 2016 population amounts to 36 million

( BAGHDAD- The Iraqi Ministry of Planning and Development Cooperation announced on Saturday that according 2016 population census, nation’s population for the year is 36 million. Population pattern of Iraqi society is characterized by a high population growth rate,  tThe average age is 68 years for males and 71.2 years for females.

The Central Bureau of Statistics of the Ministry said in a statement received by, “In light of the demographic assumptions and the stability of birth and death rate for a period of time, it is expected that the number of the population in Iraq to reach 36 million in 2016,” indicating that ” Males ratio for the number of population is slightly higher (50.5%), compared with females, which amounted to 49.5%. ”
