Iraqi child, forgotten by father inside car, dies of heat

Kirkuk ( An Iraqi father left his young kid inside his car for a short time, only to come back and find him dead of scorching temperatures, a local source was quoted saying on Friday.

Baghdad Today quoted the source saying that the father left his eight-year-old child inside his locked up vehicle and went for shopping at a commercial center in Domiz, Kirkuk province. The car was parked exposed to the scorching sun.

According to the source, the father got busy chatting with a friend at the center, only to come back and find his kid unconscious. He rushed him to hospital but he had died by then.

Earlier on Friday, the Iraqi Health Ministry issued protection instructions for citizens against soaring temperatures, which included staying at home except for utmost necessity.
