(IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – On Wednesday, a local source in al-Hawija District revealed, that the ISIS militants have blown up a Sufi shrine in southwest of the province.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, informed IraqiNews.com, “Today, elements of the ISIS have blown up the shrine of Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah in the area of Qura Ismael in the district of al-Hawija, using a number of explosives devices,” pointing out that, “The bombing resulted in the destruction of the shrine without causing any human casualties.”

Noteworthy, Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah was one of the Sufi leaders. He died in 1975 in the village of Ismael and was buried in the same village in al-Hawija District (55 southwest of Kirkuk).
