Lot of foods that enter Iraq either carcinogenic or tainted, says Zamili
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The head of the Parliamentary Commission on Security and Defense Hakim Zamili revealed on Sunday, that a lot of foods that enter Iraq are either carcinogenic or tainted, noting that some border crossing points are controlled by corrupted individuals.
Zamili said in a joint press conference with the Minister of Trade Mohammed Mallas held today and attended by IraqiNews.com, “A lot of foods that enter Iraq are priced less than market prices; they are either carcinogenic or tainted,” noting that, “The cancer diseases in Iraq are due to these tainted foods.”
Zamili stated that, “Such foods enter the country without supervision,” adding that, “The inspection is absent in border crossing points.”
Zamili confirmed, “Many of rotten foods have been found in Trebil border crossing,” pointing out that, “There are some corrupted individuals who purchased these border crossing points.”
