MoE calls S. Korean companies to avoid fraud in their work in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Minister of Electricity Karim Aftan “urged the S. Korean companies to avoid fraud and illegal interventions in establishing and erecting power stations in Iraq.” The spokesperson of the ministry Musab al-Mudaris said “During a meeting with the S. Korean parliamentary delegation, headed by Sonja Park, and membership of Shan Ul Li and with presence of the S. Korean Ambassador in Iraq Hun Muong Kim and the economic advisor in the embassy Biongson Choi, Aftan called not to allow the tarried S. Korean companies to distort the S. Korea’s image.” The Minister of Electricity, during the meeting, expressed his discontent about Hyundai Company for Heavy Industries’ non-commitment in its contract with the Ministry in the electricity sector,” noting that “On the other hand, we see that (STX) company is abiding by its commitments towards the deadline as well as its accuracy in implementing the projects entrusted to it.” For her side, the head of the S. Korean delegation expressed “her regret for Hyundai C.’s faults in its work,” promising that she will “inform the Korean government and parliament about this issue.” She stressed on “not allowing to distort S. Korea’s image.”
