Office of Shiite leader al-Sistani announces Tuesday first day of Ramadan

(IraqiNews.com) The Office of the Shiite Supreme Religious Authority, Ali al-Sistani, announced on Monday, that the first day of the month of Ramadan will be tomorrow.

The office said in a brief statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “Tuesday, according to the legitimate vision [of the crescent] is the first day of the holy month of Ramadan.”

Noteworthy the Shiite cleric Mohammed Saeed al-Hakim announced yesterday, that Monday is the last day of the month of Shaaban and Tuesday is the first day of Ramadan.
