(IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday, Ministry of Health announced a child was dead and another was hospitalized after having Ratpoison. The ministry confirmed that the cure does not exist in Iraq.

The official ministry spokesman Ahmed Rudaini said in an interview for IraqiNews.com,”A child died and another was hospitalized after they ate pieces of cake that were exposed to Ratpoison—or what is known as Thallium—which is used in some industrial facilities. They bought the cake pieces from a shop,” noting that,”Such cases are often categorized as criminal cases.”

Rudaini added, “The cure of such poisonings does not exist in all countries of the world, because they are rare,” indicating that, “Minister of Health formed a medical committee for this matter and the injured is now lying in the Medical City Hospital to follow up on his health.”

Rudaini noted, Ministry of Health addressed the World Health Organization, the Red Cross and other parties to provide proper treatment,” adding, “We will get treatment from Germany; it will arrive at three o’clock this evening.”
