(IraqiNews.com) Babylon – The Department of Antiquities in Babylon Province announced, that it allocated 530 thousand dollars to remediate the groundwater in Ishtar Gate, while pointed out that a number of specialized experts will carry out the preventive work in the original Ishtar Gate.

The head of Babylon Department of Antiquities Hussein al-Amary said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “530 thousand dollars were allocated to remediate the groundwater in Ishtar Gate,” pointing out that, “A delegate of experts will remediate the groundwater in Ishtar Gate, while another delegate will carry out the preventive work for the original Ishtar Gate in al-Mawkeb Street.”

Amary added, “Iraqi cadres finished a training course in one of the Turkish universities on documenting archaeological buildings in the city of Babylon.”
