(IraqiNews.com) SALAHADDIN – One of the elders of Shirqat district in Salahaddin province announced on Thursday that four civilians, including two children, were killed due to high temperatures and severe hunger at northern Salahuddin.

Sheikh Hussein al-Lahibi in an interview with Iraqi News said, “Four civilians, including two children died today because of the intense heat and hunger while they were escaping Sharqat center, 50 km north of Salah al-Din),” adding, “Mother of the two deceased children arrived after leaving them when they were exposed to ISIS fire.”

“The body of a man and his wife were found in the desert of Sharqat. They died due to starvation and the high temperatures,” Al-Lahibi added.
