Transportation Ministry starts plan to transport Arbaeen Pilgrims

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Transportation announced a plan to transport the pilgrims of the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein May Peace be Upon Him.

A statement by the Ministry received by IraqiNews.com cited Friday “The head of the Operations Command within the Ministry of Transportation, Hussein Thwaini, stressed the necessity of committing to show presence of the Ministry’s cadres at the locations of check point 56 and check point 54 on Baghdad – Karbala road.”

The statement quoted Thwaini as saying “The number of the buses provided by the Ministry to transport the pilgrims are 550 buses of different sizes from the General Company of Land Transportation, 300 buses from the General Company for transporting delegations, 15 buses for the Sea Transportation Company, 8 buses from the General Company for executing the Transportation Projects in addition to the services provided by the Iraqi Railways Company.”

He instructed the general directors and their assistants to be available at the required locations to supervise transporting the pilgrims safely.
