(IraqiNews.com) On Sunday, PM Haider al-Abadi’s office announced that the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon will visit Baghdad tomorrow to meet with al-Abadi and a number of Iraqi officials to discuss the latest security developments in Iraq and the region, and learn about the role of the government to strengthen national unity.

Spokesman for the Office, Saad Harithi said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “The Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon will arrive tomorrow in Baghdad to meet with Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and a number of Iraqi officials to discuss the latest field and security developments in Iraq and the region.”

Harithi added, “The visit also comes to examine ways of support that the United Nations and the international community  can to offer Iraq in facing the security challenges and learn about the Iraqi government’s efforts to promote national unity and fight against terrorism and sectarianism.”
