URGENT: French Foreign Minister says France will intervene militarily in Iraq if authorized by the UN Security Council

(IraqiNews.com) The French Foreign Minister, Laurent Fabius announced on Sunday that his country will intervene militarily in Iraq if the Security Council mandated.

Iraqiya TV Channel quoted on Fabius as saying that “France will intervene militarily in Iraq if the Security Council authorized that.”

The French Foreign Minister, Laurent Fabius confirmed, earlier, on Sunday that Iraq needs a government of national unity, inclusive, pointing out that France condemns the events which are going in northern of Iraq.

The French Foreign Minister, Laurent Fabius arrived today to the capital Baghdad on an official visit. After his meeting with some officials, he went to Erbil to discuss the latest developments, and overseeing, from the Kurdistan, on the delivery of French humanitarian assistance to the displaced civilians who have fled from the organization of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant.”
