Erbil (IraqiNews.com) A Kurdish military source said on Wednesday that the Peshmerga forces in Kurdistan began training on the use of a number of weapons that were obtained from the United States and France.

The source said in a statement for IraqiNews.com that “these weapons contain sophisticated anti-tank shoulder-mounted, anti-light mechanisms, and other weapons requested by the Ministry of Peshmerga.”

The source speculated that “The entry of these weapons  to the battle will make  a big change in the balance of power in favor of the peshmerga; they can repel any possible attack from the militants of the Islamic state in Iraq and the Levant, and securing the cover for any progress of the Kurdish forces.”
