1 civilian killed, 2 wounded in bomb blast southwest of Kirkuk

( Kirkuk – A security source in Kirkuk province said on Tuesday, that a civilian had been killed and two others were injured in an explosion that targeted escaping families from ISIS-controlled areas southwest of the province.

The source said in a statement obtained by, “An explosive device that was emplaced on the road side in the area of Maktab Khaled, southwest of Kirkuk, went off against escaping families from the ISIS held-[areas] in the vicinity of al-Riyad (40 km southwest of Kirkuk), resulting in the death of one civilian and wounding two others.”

The source also added, “A force from the Peshmerga evacuated the dead body to the forensic medicine authority and the injured to Kirkuk Hospital for medical treatment.”
