1 civilian killed, 3 others wounded in the explosion of IED south of Baghdad

( Baghdad – A source in the police announced on Thursday that a civilian was killed, while three others were wounded in the explosion of an explosive device south of Baghdad.

The source said in an interview for, “an explosive device that was placed on the side of the international highway in Yusufiya area south of Baghdad exploded at noon today targeting a vehicle, resulting in the death of one civilian and wounding three others.”

The source, who asked anonymity, added: “The security forces cordoned off the area of the incident, and rushed the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment, and the body of the dead man to the forensic medicine department, while opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident.”
