(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the police announced on Saturday that 12 people were killed and at least 31 others were wounded in Kadhimiya bombings north of Baghdad.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “The initial death toll of the car explosion that targeted, this afternoon, the entrance of Kadhimiya area in northern Baghdad, stood at five dead and 20 wounded, as well as material damage.”

The source, who asked not to be named, added: “the suicide bombing that targeted, this afternoon, the entrance of al-Horiya area north of the capital, resulted in the killing of seven people and wounding 11 others, as well as the burning of more than 20 cars.”

The source stated, “The ambulances transported the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment and the bodies to the forensic medicine department.”

It is noteworthy that the capital Baghdad has witnessed on Saturday the explosion of a car bomb, driven by a suicide bomber, at the entrance of Kadhimiya area northern Baghdad, while a suicide bomber wearing an explosive belt blew himself up near a parking garage at the entrance of al-Horiya area north of the capital.
