(IraqiNews.com) A security source in Salahuddin province announced on Wednesday that two families, composed of 13 people, were killed in the explosion of a booby-trapped house south of Baiji (170 km north of Baghdad).

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com “a booby-trapped house exploded at noon today after the entry of two families to it because of the sinking of their homes, due to the rain, in al-Hjaj area, located south of Baiji (40 km north of Tikrit), resulting in the death of all the members of the two families, consisting of 13 people, including women and children.”

The source, who asked anonymity, added: “the security force rushed to the area of the incident and transported the bodies of the dead to the forensic medicine department,” without giving further details.
