Source: Volunteer soldier killed by ISIS sniper south of Kirkuk

(IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – A security source in Kirkuk province announced on Thursday, that an element of al-Hashed al-Turkumani had been killed by a sniper belonging to the ISIS south of the province.

The source said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “This evening, an element of al-Hashed al-Turkumani’s 16th brigade was targeted by a sniper belonging to ISIS in the district of Taza (25 km south of Kirkuk), resulting in his injury,” pointing out that, “The element had died while being transferred to the hospital.”

The source also added, “The dead body was taken to the forensic medicine department for the purpose of transfering it to his family.”
