2 gunmen arrested in Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: An Iraqi army force on Saturday captured two leading gunmen belonging to an armed group in eastern Mosul, a military source said. “A force from the 3rd Quick Intervention Brigade arrested on Saturday two leading members of the so-called Islamic State of Iraq group in al-Tahrir neighborhood, eastern Mosul,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The arrests were made based on intelligence tip-offs,” he added. “An arrest warrant had been issued against those two men, one of them is an amir (leader),” he said, adding the two are wanted on charges of killing policemen and civilians in Mosul. Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, is 405 km north of Baghdad. AmR (P)/SR 1
