2 PKK youths blow up themselves in Makhmur

Erbil (IraqiNews.com) Two youths belonging to the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) blew up themselves inside an IDP camp in Makhmur, on the 18th anniversary of the arrest of the party’s leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Mayor of Makhmur, Rezkar Mustafa said in an official statement, “An explosion took place inside Makhmur internally displaced people’s camp,” without indicating to the reasons behind the blast.

Bas News pointed out that the provided information indicating that two youths (a man and woman), belonging to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party blew up themselves, on the occasion of the arrest of the party’s leader Abdullah Öcalan’s anniversary.

Meanwhile, Peshmerga Official, Jamal Murtaka said in a press statement, “A young man detonated himself, at evening yesterday, while another young woman detonated herself, this morning, on the 18th anniversary of the arrest of Öcalan.”
