3 civilians wounded in blast in Saadiya

DIALA / IraqiNews.com: Three civilians were wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off near their vehicle in the district of al-Saadiya, eastern Diala, on Thursday, a local security source said. “The IED exploded near a civilian vehicle in the area between Imam Weis and al-Saadiya district, (35 km) south of Khanaqin, leaving three people wounded,” the source told Iraqi News. Khanaqin, one of the disputed districts between the central government in Baghdad and the semi-autonomous Iraqi Kurdistan region, is 155 km northeast of Baaquba. “Security forces rushed the wounded to a nearby hospital in Saadiya,” the source added, not giving further details. Baaquba, the capital city of the restive province of Diala, lies 57 km northeast of Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
