3 members of Federal Police killed, wounded in armed attack in eastern Baghdad

( Baghdad – A source in the Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday, that three members of the Federal Police were either killed or wounded in an armed attack on their vehicle in eastern Baghdad.

The source said in a statement received by, “An armed group opened fire on a civilian vehicle carrying three members of the Federal Police in al-Canal Street in eastern Baghdad, killing one member and wounding two others.”

The source, who requested anonymity, added, “A security force cordoned off the area and transferred the wounded to a hospital for treatment and the dead body to the forensic medicine department, while opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident.”
