 30 kidnapped Yazidis escape ISIS captivity in Sinjar

(IraqiNews.com) Sinjar – The Yazidi Affairs Directorate of Kurdistan announced on Tuesday that 30 Yazidi held in captivity by ISIS in Sinjar, including women and children, were able to escape, adding that the Kurdish security forces helped bring them to a safe haven.

Yazidi Affairs director Khairi Bozani informed IraqiNews.com “30 kidnapped Yazidi, including women and children, have escaped from ISIS captivity in Sinjar.”

Bozani continued, “Kurdistan Security Protection, Asayish forces and the Peshmerga forces teamed up with the escapees until they arrived to safe houses,” adding that, “They will be transferred to Dohuk to conduct necessary tests and receive housing.”
