35 security forces elements killed, wounded in two explosions south of Tikrit

(IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday, a source within Salahuddin police announced, that 35 elements of the security forces have been killed and wounded in an explosion of two car bombs south of Tikrit.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “Two cars driven by suicide bombers blew off in the late hours of last night in front of the security forces’ headquarters located on Samarra -Thar Thar road southwest of Samarra (40 km south of Tikrit), which resulted in killing six security forces elements and wounding 29 others.”

The source, who requested anonymity, added, “Security forces cordoned off the scene, while ambulances rushed to transport the wounded to a nearby hospital and the bodies of the dead to the Forensic Medicine Authority.”
