5 Police elements killed, wounded in bomb blast in southern Baghdad

( Baghdad – A source in the Ministry of Interior said on Thursday, that five police elements had been either killed or wounded in the explosion of an improvised explosive device that targeted their patrol in southern Baghdad.

According to information shared by the source, and also followed by Iraqi News, it was stated, “This morning, an improvised explosive device exploded on a police patrol while it was passing in al-Yusufiyah vicinity in southern Baghdad, killing two of its members and wounding three others with different injuries, as well as inflicting material damage on the vehicle.”

“Ambulances rushed to the area and evacuated the wounded to a nearby hospital for medical treatment and the dead bodies to the forensic medicine department,” the information added.
