5 policemen killed, wounded in explosion north of Baghdad

( Baghdad – On Tuesday, a source in the Ministry of Interior announced, that five policemen had been either killed or wounded in the explosion of an explosive device north of Baghdad.

The source said in a statement followed by, “At noon today, an explosive device emplaced on the roadside exploded when a police patrol passed in Tarmiya District north of Baghdad, killing one of the patrol’s occupants and wounding four others.”

The source added, “A security force rushed to the area and transferred the dead body to the forensic medicine department and the wounded to a nearby hospital for treatment, while cordoned off the area of the incident and prevented approaching it.”
