(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – The Kurdistan Democratic Party announced, that six members of the ISIS organization were killed, while dozens were injured in an artillery shelling carried out by the Peshmerga forces in Bashiqa axis north of Mosul (405 km north of Baghdad).

The KDP’s Spokesman in Mosul Saeed Mamouzini said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “Today, the Peshmerga forces shelled ISIS headquarters inside the asphalt factory in Bashiqa axis (17 km north of Mosul), killing six members of the organization and injuring dozens.”

Mamouzini added, “The operation was carried out based on accurate intelligence information, after the attempt of the ISIS elements to attack the Peshmerga forces stationed in Bashiqa Mountain”.

Noteworthy, ISIS has imposed its control over the city of Mosul in Nineveh Province in June 2014, while extended its activities to several provinces and regions.
