6 police members killed, wounded in bomb blast targeted their patrol in southern Baghdad

( Baghdad – A source in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday, that six police members were either killed or wounded in a bomb blast targeted their patrol in southern Baghdad.

The source said in a statement followed by, “This morning, a bomb exploded on a police patrol while passing in Yusufiya area in southern Baghdad, killing one of the patrol occupants and wounding five others, as well as causing material damage to their vehicle.”

The source, who asked anonymity, added, “A security force rushed to the area and transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital for treatment and the dead body to the forensic medicine department, while carried out a raid to search for the perpetrators of the bombing.”
