7 civilians killed, wounded in explosion in southern Baghdad

( Baghdad – A police source announced on Sunday, that seven civilians including women were either killed or wounded in the explosion of an improvised explosive device in a popular market in southern Baghdad.

The source said in a statement followed by, “This morning, an improvised explosive device emplaced inside al-Yusufiya popular market in al-Yusufiya District in southern Baghdad exploded, killing one civilian and wounding six others including three women.”

The source on condition of anonymity added, “A security force cordoned off the area and transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital to receive treatment and the dead body to the forensic medicine department, while started an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.”
