8 people injured including 4 police elements in bomb blast south of Kirkuk

( Kirkuk – A security source in Kirkuk Province announced on Wednesday, that eight people including four police elements were injured in the explosion of a car bomb targeting a police patrol south of Kirkuk (250 km north of Baghdad).

The source said in a brief statement followed by, “A car bomb that was parked on the side of the road south of Kirkuk, exploded on a police patrol, wounding eight people including four police elements.”

The source, who asked anonymity, added, “The security forces cordoned off the area and transferred the injured to a hospital for treatment, while opened an investigation to uncover the circumstances and the perpetrators of the bombing.”
