8 people killed, wounded in bomb blast in southern Baghdad

( Baghdad – A source in the Ministry of Interior announced on Monday, that eight people had been either killed or wounded in a bomb blast in southern Baghdad.

The source said in a press statement followed by, “A bomb exploded near a number of shops in Dawra area in southern Baghdad, killing one person and wounding seven others.”

The source, who asked anonymity, added, “A security force rushed to the area and transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital for treatment and the dead body to the forensic medicine department, while imposed a security cordon on the area of the incident.”
