 80 pc areas to west and south of Fallujah liberated

(IraqiNews.com) Khalidiya District Council on Tuesday announced that 80 per cent of areas towards the west and south of Fallujah have been liberated from ISIS grip and tens of ISIS figthers have also been killed in both the areas.

Head of Khalidiyah Council Ali Dawoud, in a statement issued to the media, said, “The security forces managed to liberate more than 80 per cent areas of al-Halabesa, Albu Elwan and Albu Herat in the western and southern sides of Fallujah,” adding, “Tens of ISIS members were killed and four booby trapped vehicles were detonated during the operation.”

Adding further Dawoud said, “The joint security forces achieved a notable progress in its military operations. During the next few hours the Iraqi flag will be raised over the government buildings in both the areas.”
