(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the Iraqi Interior Ministry announced on Sunday, that nine people had been either killed and wounded in a bomb blast in central Baghdad.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “A bomb exploded this morning in al-Kifah Street in central Baghdad, resulting in the killing of one person and wounding eight others, in addition to causing material damage to a number of shops.”

The source, who asked anonymity, added: “Ambulances rushed to the area and transported the wounded to a nearby hospital to receive treatment and the dead body to the forensic medicine department, while the security forces cordoned off the area of the incident and prevented approaching it.”
