9 people killed, wounded in bomb blast northeast of Baghdad

( Baghdad – A source within the police force in Baghdad province said on Sunday, that nine people had been either killed or injured in a bomb blast northeast of Baghdad.

The source said in a statement obtained by, “This evening, an explosive device went off near a popular cafe in the area of al-Sha’ab, northeast of Baghdad, resulting in the death of one person and wounding eight others,” adding that, “A security force rushed to the area of the incident and transferred the injured to a nearby hospital for medical treatment and the dead body to the forensic medicine authority, while imposed a security cordon around the area and prevented approaching it.”
