(IraqiNews.com) Prime Minister and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces Haider al-Abadi discussed with the new Nineveh Operations commander Maj. Gen. Najim Abdullah al-Jubouri the ongoing preparations for the battle to liberate Nineveh.

Abadi’s Office said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “Prime Minister and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces Haider al-Abadi received yesterday the new commander of Nineveh Operation, Maj. Gen. Najim Abdullah al-Jubouri.”

During the meeting, they discussed preparations for the battle to liberate Nineveh.

  1. What happened to the previous commander of the Nineveh Operation and why did he loose the command of the operation, particularly at such a time when the liberation of Mosul would soon be starting?
