Abadi heads to Anbar to check military operations

(IraqiNews.com) The information office of the Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi announced on Wednesday, that the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces went to al-Anbar province to check the military operations―launched today for the liberation of the province―and to meet with some field commanders.

The office’s spokesman Saad al-Hadithi said in interview for IraqiNews.com, “Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi went to Anbar to check the military operations, which were launched to liberate the province from the ISIS group,” noting that, “Al-Abadi will meet with some field commanders and senior military in the province.”

Al-Hadithi added, “The PM will check the latest efforts related to the organization, arming and equipping of tribal fighters of the province to fight alongside the armed forces and contribute to the liberation of the province.”
