Adviser to Barzani: Peshmerga is ready to participate in the liberation of Raqqa

( Erbil – The Media Advisor to the Kurdish Regional President Mahmoud Kifah announced on Monday, that the Peshmerga forces are ready to contribute in the liberation of the city of Raqqa in Syria, noting that the participation of Peshmerga should be with the approval of the Kurdistan Parliament.

Mahmoud said in an interview for, “The general commander of the armed forces in the Kurdistan region, Massoud Barzani, confirmed the readiness of the Peshmerga forces to participate in the liberation of the Syrian city of Raqqa from the control of ISIS,” noting at the same time that, “Moving any forces in the region requires the approval of Kurdistan Parliament.”

Mahmoud added that “Peshmerga is the only force that the enemy couldn’t defeat it,” noting that, “Peshmerga is a solid military force that is fighting bravely and respects the laws of war and dealing with the wounded and the prisoners of the enemy in accordance with the international treaties.”
