(IraqiNews.com) Salahuddin – On Monday the commander of the 21th brigade of al-Hashed al-Sha’bi threatened to leave Alas and Ajil oil fields, if fuel was not provided within 24 hours.

The commander of the 21th brigade of al-Hashed al-Shabi militia said in an interview with IraqiNews.com, “The 21th brigade of al-Hashed al-Sha’bi will leave the oil fields of Alas and Ajil east of Salahuddin, if the Ministry of Oil did not provide us with fuel within 24 hours.”

Secretary General of Badr Organization, Hadi al-Amiri, asserted last June, that Alas and Ajil oil fields, located east of Salahuddin, had become a cemetery for “ISIS”, while pointed out that the return of the organization to the liberated areas in Diyali and Salahuddin will not be achieved.

  1. It appears that they have enough fuel to retreat from the oilfields but not enough fuel to stay where they are and just hold the oilfields.
