Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Mohanad Jeahze, an Iraqi-Swedish professional footballer, just joined with D.C. United, an American football club that participates in the Major League Soccer (MLS). The left-back defender joins from Hammarby, a Stockholm-based Swedish football team.

According to the Swedish publication Expressen, the transfer fee is estimated to be over $1 million.

Jeahze, 25, has been with Hammarby since being bought from Maltby in 2020.

D.C. United, led by team manager Wayne Rooney, is a football club based in Washington, D.C. that participates in the MLS. The team has won six Eastern Conference titles and four MLS Cups, four Supporters Shields, three U.S. Open Cups, domestically.

Jeahze’s family are from Samawah, Iraq, and he swore loyalty to Iraq in the year 2020. In a 1-1 stalemate with Syria in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying match, Jeahze officially made his debut for Iraq on November 11, 2021.
