Anbar University to be liberated soon, says Anti-Terrorism Operations

(IraqiNews.com) Anbar – Deputy Commander of the Anti-Terrorism Operations in Anbar province, Brigadier General Abdul Amir al-Khazraji announced on Thursday killing and wounding dozens of ISIS elements in aerial bombardment on the organization sites in Al-Anbar University west of Ramadi, indicating that the announcement of the liberation of Anbar University is soon.

Khazraji said: “the warplanes and the artillery bombed today ISIS sites in Anbar University,” noting that, “the bombing resulted in the killing of dozens of ISIS militants.”

Khazraji added that “the organization has become under the Anti-Terrorism’s fire,” pointing out that, “the progress in the liberalization operations of Anbar University is continuous.”

Since Iraqi forces retreated from Ramadi over a month ago there has been continuous fighting and one of the main areas in fighting ISIS has been at the university as to who controls that strategic position. ISIS has been victorious in not allowing Iraqi forces into several strategic positions around Ramadi but gradually that is very slowly changing to Iraqi forces being victorious, but it may be some weeks yet of heavy fighting before Ramadi will be liberated.
