(IraqiNews.com) Anbar – On Tuesday, the Commander of the Anti-Terrorism’s 3rd brigade Major-General Samy Kazem al-Aardi announced, that the Anti-Terrorism forces have freed more than 350 civilians that were trapped by ISIS elements in the center of Ramadi.

Aardi said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “The Anti-Terrorism forces in cooperation with Anbar police have freed more than 350 civilians including women and children,” adding that, “The civilians were besieged by ISIS elements in the areas of al-Thayyalah, Albu Alwan, Jami’ya and Ramadi Hospital in the center of the city.”

“Anbar police will transfer the released civilians to Habbaniyah IDP camps in Khalidiya District,” he added.

Noteworthy, Iraqi forces managed to retake Ramadi, while also liberated the city from the ISIS organization and raised the Iraqi flag over the government complex.
