Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) A security source in Salahuddin Province informed that a civilian was killed and two others were wounded in an armed attack in Balad District, south of Tikrit, Alsumaria News reported on Thursday.

The source revealed that six gunmen fired indiscriminately, this evening, in Balad District, resulting in the killing of a civilian and injury of two others.

Security forces cordoned off the area of incident, while transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital and the body to the forensic medicine department, the source added on condition of anonymity.

Noteworthy, Iraq is witnessing an extraordinary situation, where military operations continue to drive out the Islamic State group from its-held areas.

Meanwhile, US-led international coalition is conducting several air strikes on the terrorist group headquarters, leaving dozens of casualties.
